Back To School Today

Jaden's two sidekicks went back to school today. It's a big day for both of them because they started at a brand new school...Hodgenville Elementary.

Nate was so excited about his 1st Grade Teacher Mr. Edwards, they hit it off great at the Back To School Bash Tuesday night when Mr. Edwards was standing in the door way greeting all his students when Nate walked up to him and said "hey Mr. Edwards I can read what that sign says there on the door", so Mr. Edwards said Nate you can, read it to me....so Nate started reading the sign, "Welcome To Camp Edwards" he said ....Mr. Edwards couldn't believe that Nate could already read....In Kindergarten this past year he read 72 new books....Mr. Edwards told Nate that they are gonna have a great year together. I'm so proud of him, maybe he has done so well because my mom took him to school with her where she taught at every day since he was 3years old... It's so amazing what a child can learn if they are willing and wanting to learn it....

Shelby on the other hand was a little anxious but excited. The school where she has been at since she started was a very small Christian School and that's also the school where my mom (Shelby's Mammaw) taught at, so if she ever needed anything mammaw was just a couple of classrooms away. I know that this first day will be the hardest and after today I know that she will be just perfect in her 3rd grade class.

I'm extremely sad that they will not be attending our Christian School this year but maybe by next year our Church and School will gain some more families and new students so they can come back...

Can't wait to hear all the fun and exciting details about their first day when they get home from school.
