It always seems as if I miss my grandparents more each passing year, especially when a Special Holiday rolls around...They have been gone now for 8 years and the traditions that they carried out, just aren't the same...No matter how hard we try it will never be the same...but for our children, we are making the same traditions that our grandparents instilled within us...so when I think about it like that, well that brings a smile to my heart...
Hanya and Pat hosted our Easter Lunch this year, after we all celebrated our Saviours Resurrection at church...The weather was not so perfect (RAINY) but we didn't let that put a damper on our spirits...I still wore my brand new opened toe shoes, and yes my feet did get all cold and wet, but at least my toes looked cute...the rain stopped long enough for the guys to hide the Easter Eggs outside and the kids got to hunt for them...HOWEVER, it was a terrible, muddy mess and the kids loved it...Jaden ended up with all the hard boiled eggs, which called for colored Egg dye everywhere...so we had to switch out his nice, pretty, new Amish Basket and replaced it with a Taget shopping plastic bag...I took tons of pictures...so after sorting through over 400 I have only posted 60...Not so bad after all...
After lunch and the Egg Hunt we took Jaden home for his much needed nap...When he woke up, we headed to James Parents to have dinner with them...By this time the rain had started back again and it never let up...All the kids enjoyed hunting Easter Eggs in the house at Mammaw and Pappaw McBride's...
So thankful that we serve a risen Saviour...Not only do I just serve Him, but I'm so thankful I know who He is and that He lives inside my heart...I'm sure you have heard this song, Oh Glorious Day by Casting Crowns (One Day in our Hymnal Book at Church, but has been re-written), but for some reason this Easter that song just kept echoing back over and over again in my mind...I love it and have been singing it long after Easter has been over...The words are so powerful because it gives a lost person HOPE...So I must post the lyrics...please read them word for word...I pray that the words to this song touches your heart as much as they have mine...And yes one day He's coming back and what a GLORIOUS DAY that will be...I trust that you will be ready...If your not ready, please take the time to ASK how by way a messaging me...Would love to be able to take the Bible and show you HOW you can know that your READY, ready for the life after death or ready for Christ's return...Either way, which ever comes first...
One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
His glory revealed
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
What a Blessed day we had!!!
I have to tell you that Barrett loves the picture you sent us of the three of you. He keeps it on the kitchen table and at every meal practices all of your names:)
