Jaden will be getting a new shunt in his brain at Kosair Children's Hospital.
The CP Shunt he currently has is no longer working, as you can tell
from his latest MRI Image. The Cyst that surrounds his brain stem has doubled in size from last years Images.
We have battled this Cyst ever since Jaden had that terrible Brain Bleed when he was just 4 days old. The front of the brain is the worst place possible that a cyst could ever form and that's exactly where his is located. This will be the 5th Attempt to reach it and help it to drain.
Why 4 times and now 5? We are trusting His perfect plan even though it's so hard to understand.
James and I hate to see him go through this again, but we have no choice. He has had a couple of small seizures, his legs have been trembling, and he has been extremely slouchy which all links to the Cyst and it's size, not to mention the terrible headache pain it causes.
Updates on the surgery will follow.
I wanted to share this prayer that I wrote on Jaden’s first cyst surgery back in 2009
Lord of all life, Gracious Father, of the ups and downs of life, Lord of the seeming triumphs and supposed disappointments, who does not change in the midst of change, we come to You expecting great strength. As we pray through tough times we know You will give us today what we will need tomorrow. That's so amazing! We mostly need for the circumstances ahead - patience, courage, endurance, discernment, wisdom, and hope. You are our very strength in these tough times.
It is awesome to know that You have been thinking of us. Even better, it is so comforting to know what You think about us and our circumstances, Your faithfulness never fails and You always keep Your promises. The sure foundation of our hope is in Your strength and power. You are our sure Hope in these heart-aching worries, You have filled us with a living Hope that no trouble can destroy, and no fear can disturb.
Thank you for Your grace, offered even before we ask and provided way beyond our deserving.
A promise from Your WORD in Proverbs 2: 2- 6 reveals how to pray for wisdom, "Incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Fearing You simply means awe, wonder, and humble adoration.
The heavy responsibilities that stretches out before us this day, be with us in the hours of our decision-making and in Your grace, be with Jaden and continue to watch over him. Tenderly whisper in our souls the reassurance, " I have placed you here and will not leave you, nor forsake you." We trust You for answers and solutions, give us peace to do what time alone with You has convinced us must be done. We have bathed the decisions that must be made in prayer before You, and we Praise You in advance for Your guidance.
In spite of all these circumstances we face, we are committed to remain faithful to You, to our belief in Your goodness, and to the people who have said to us we have given them hope and inspiration for their own tough times. You are so faithful and we are begging all this in the name of Christ who lifts burdens and carries the load.
~Amen~
What's next? Only the Lord knows. We have to pray that God will give Dr Moriarty the perfect plan on this 5th attempt. Our hearts are very burdened and we are clinging to the verse Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry and the Lord heareth and delivereth them out of all our troubles.
Kacey, We will be praying hard on the 28th. Not only for the Dr and his hands that God will guide but also for you and James....and strength. Love you guys.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update. We are praying. I always ask Susan about you all.
